Li – the old museum farm in Hylsfjord
High up on the hillside, with panoramic views of the Hylsfjord in Suldal, lies the farm Li – almost 300 steep meters up from the fjord. In collaboration with the Ryfylke Museum, this year we can offer a guided tour from the boathouse by the fjord and up to the farmyard.
In the courtyard there are 13 buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, which contain old objects. The composition of buildings for different purposes gives the yard a medieval feel, at the same time as the buildings are built with the help of handicraft traditions that point far back in history. The yard is among the most worthy farmsteads in this part of the country, and is thus also of national interest. The National Heritage Board protected Litunet in 1974.
The landscape around Li is a characteristic western cultural landscape with small fields, stone fence and clearing piles.
Guided tour from the fjord
This summer you can join the fjord by boat, go ashore at the boathouse in Hylsfjorden. Here, a guide from the Ryfylke Museum welcomes you and leads you up the old path to Litunet. The Ryfylke Museum has cleared and prepared the path up to the garden. The trip requires good shoes.
In the yard you will hear about life from a long time ago. The guide takes you back to the boathouse where the boat picks you up for the return.
